What's new
The games change almost every day, mostly because Sophia, Cora and other families ask for things. Here is what changed, newest first. Something to fix or an idea? Tap the bug button on any screen in the game.
October 17 and 18
- Today at a glance. Each child's stats in Grown-ups now open with today: time played, stars, words read, books and rounds.
- Tap a trophy to see what it was won for and when, or how to win it.
- Names stay put. A child's name now has its own Save and Edit buttons.
October 16
- Real trophies. Every trophy in My Collection is now its own funny painted trophy (a karate hippo, a yeti in sunglasses, a cheetah on a rocket). Ones still to win are mystery silhouettes.
- Sticker Book tweaks. It opens at the top, has buttons to the Stamp Book and trophies, and each page's star sticker has a gold ring so you know which one will dance.
- Cora and the Kitten, a new Little Book starring Cora, with ten painted pictures.
- Dancing star stickers. Fill a Sticker Book page and its star sticker comes alive.
- Six fairy tales, painted in a gentle Beatrix Potter style, on their own shelf in Little Books: The Little Red Hen, The Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Giant Turnip, The Tortoise and the Hare, and The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse.
- A tidier Sticker Book. Every sticker now sits on the page it belongs on (ocean animals on Ocean Friends, treats on Sweet Treats), and pages fill in order with no empty spaces. Each page's star sticker is its last one.
- "Try the next level!" After three strong rounds on a level (at most one slip each), the game says it is mastered and points to the next one.
- 1,000 stars brings a special celebration, and a tie with a speed record gets its own badge: a cheetah in a necktie.
- The Word Monster grows up. Every word fed to it counts: it grows spots, big horns, wings, a crown and finally rainbow colours. Each finished deck lays an egg, which hatches into a baby friend during the next deck.
- Tap the card to hear it. In Word Monster, tapping a flipped card says the word again.
- A friendlier sound button. Our own drawn speaker replaces the emoji everywhere, and a muted button no longer turns bright yellow, so it doesn't tempt little fingers.
- Tidier celebrations. Stars earned, stars in all, and time now sit in three neat tiles.
- Reading Doggo. The bookworm dog sticker has a new name.
- Voice fixes for "him", "are", "bee" and "kite". The voice is generated with AI (ElevenLabs); if a word sounds wrong, tell us with the bug button.
October 15
- Books that fit a phone. The picture comes first and the buttons are always in view. Pages turn by themselves after a word is read, except the last one, which waits for "The end". A page already read stays read when you go back.
- A "Just right" shelf. Little Books suggests books at your child's level, worked out from the word games and the books they have finished, and "Next book" picks the next one.
- Book stamps show the cover instead of an emoji.
- Twenty new silly stickers, now mixed into every page of the Sticker Book. A new sticker opens right where it lands, and tapping it shows it big.
- A clearer progress page for grown-ups: what your child is learning, shown as skills, rather than a list of games and scores.
- Pictures for players. Children can pick one of our own characters as their picture.
- Math Arcade has its own bright card on the home screen. Paintbrush Island and Math Mountain moved into an "Under construction" section while we keep building them.
- Book fixes: Tom the cat and his rat friend each get a hat, Ten Hens reads more clearly, and Cake for a Snake became Cake for a Mole.
- Voice fixes for can, van, pan, ant, pig, log, sun, tub, dino and panda.
- For families: a welcome email that lists the games, and analytics with no cookies.
October 14
- Sticker Book: tap any sticker to see it big, with sparkles and confetti, and a party when a page fills up.
- Word Monster says the word when the card flips.
- Grown-ups get a stats card for each child.
October 11 to 13
- Word Cards became Word Monster: read the word, flip to check, and feed the hungry monster.
- Free family accounts for any parent, so progress follows your child to every device. You can share an account with another grown-up.
- Play straight away, with no name screen for a first visit.
- A bug button on every screen to report a problem or send an idea, and a mute button on every screen.
October 8 to 10
- The Sticker Book: 160 painted stickers, plus a Silly Sillies page.
- Painted pictures for 29 of the Little Books.
- Speed records for the fastest perfect round on every level.
October 1 to 5
- Twenty more Little Books, up to chapter-length stories, with a detective question at the end of each.
- Maths: Block Math (adding, taking away, times and sharing), Lightning mode, Ten Drop, six Math Arcade games, and Math Mountain.
- Gold medals for perfect rounds, and stars only for answers right first time.
- Letter games for beginners, including Hear & Find and Big & Little.
September 28 to 30: the beginning
- Sophie's Reading Adventure begins: Build It, Read It, Rhyme Time, sight words, the first Little Books, Letter Sounds and Paintbrush Island.
